On the 11th of March, 2011, a massive M9 earthquake smashed reactors at Japan's Fukushima Daiichi, and reportedly damaged Fukushima Daini and Tokai (Ibaraki)nuclear power stations. On July 16, 2007, The Kashiwazaki-Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant in Nigatta had been damaged by a M7 earthquake, proving at that time that nuclear power stations have no place in a country straddling 3 of the world's most active fault lines.

Unfortunately for the citizens of Japan and the world, on March 11th 2011, a devastating tsunami tore up the inadequate infrastructure at the melting down reactors at Fukushima Daiichi power station resulting in massive ongoing and uncontrolled releases of radiation covering not only most of Eastern Japan, vast areas of the Pacific Ocean, but the west coasts of Canada and the United States of America.

This blog hopes to give amateur information on the effect and danger to Kyoto and surrounding areas.
